Explore 2013, Photography Workshop at the Royal Geographic Society
Explore 2013, the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG)’s annual field research and expedition planning weekend, takes place from 15 to 17 November this year. The weekend provides the inspiration, contacts and practical advice needed to embark on an independent fieldwork expedition, with more than 90 leading field scientists and explorers on the programme.
I will be a panelist on the Photography Workshop alongside distinguished photographers on Sunday 17 November. The workshop will be held 2.30-4.30pm and is an excellent opportunity for anyone who would like to ask any questions about photography and the business of photography. If you have ever wondered, ‘How do you photograph people?’ or ‘How do you approach a magazine editor with an idea?’ Then come along and join us at the Royal Geographic Society this Sunday!
Looking forward to seeing you there!

It’s been a really busy month for the Still Journeying Team. Places on our first introductory workshop from ‘Oh No!’ to ‘Oh Wow!’ Photography on Saturday 31 August filled up with in a week and people have already signed up to our next workshop. We covered a lot on the day and the participants gained greater confidence in composing images, working with others and have been sharing their photos on our exclusive Facebook group.
As part of the workshop, participants were invited to share their pictures and enter a competition to win a free place on the Photography Intensive Workshop on Saturday 28 September worth £297. I have loved seeing the range and diversity of images from our participants as the photos have encapsulated their personalities yet also their enthusiasm to take more photos!
We had outstanding submissions and after a close buddy to buddy vote the top 10 images have made it to the Still Journeying Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/still.journeying). It is great to see participants discussing their ‘buddies’ photographs from the day and their encouraging words of support for each other! The group dynamic continues to amaze me.
Now it’s your chance to vote for the best one! Simply log on to www.facebook.com/still.journeying and click ‘like’ on the image which appeals to you most and the image with the most ‘likes’ on this page will win a free place on our Photography Intensive on Saturday 28 September in London. Good luck to the entrants!
